Microsoft Authenticator on mobile will soon be updated with password management and autofill capabilities, the company ad (seen by Thurott). Passwords will be synced using your Microsoft account using Outlook, Hotmail, and other Redmond products. This will allow you to select Microsoft as your autofill provider and then sync passwords across apps or websites using Microsoft Edge browser or Google Chrome, through a new one. Chrome extension.

So far, Authenticator has been of great use as a two-factor authentication app. With autofill and password management, however, it is a legitimate replacement for Google’s autofill and password manager. This should be especially useful for businesses or individuals who work on Microsoft’s Office ecosystem rather than Google G-Suite (now Google Workspace).
