You might not want to play Xbox 360 Halo online games for much longer. Thurrott reports Microsoft and 343 Industries are relax Halo Xbox 360 services over the next year. Both stopped digital sales of all Halo games for the platform (DLC is still available), and will end matchmaking, challenges, and other key online features for “at the earliest” titles on December 18, 2021.

It does not affect Master Chief Collection games or Halo Wars: Definitive Edition, but it includes backward compatible versions that you play on the Xbox One or X / S Series. Xbox 360 versions will still support custom online games, local games, and online teams – you just can’t use service-dependent features.
