If you can rock it, I suggest splurging on the 512GB card, especially if you have a number of digital games. This is the lowest price this card has ever been on Amazon, so it’s a pretty good deal. Otherwise, the 256GB card is a solid buy as well.
It’s a story as old as time – the Nintendo Switch only comes with a meager 32GB of onboard storage. That’s enough for a bunch of small indie games, but once you start installing full-size AAA games you’ll quickly run out of space. In fact, some third-party games alone consume over 32GB of space. It’s a bit ridiculous.
Adding a microSD card to your Switch is a snap. There is a tiny slot for it located under the kickstand of the full size switches. On a Switch Lite, just take a look at the bottom of the device and you’ll find the slot for the microSD insertion.
Once you have installed a microSD card in your Switch, you will be able to keep more eShop games on your device. And what do you know, it turns out that there is a big EShop sale happening right now.
Amazon’s Deal of the Day sale covers more storage devices than just microSD cards, but the ones listed above are the cheapest for storage size. You can get faster microSD cards on sale, but they cost more, and the Nintendo Switch isn’t designed to take advantage of their speed. But if you’re looking for a card to fit into something like a digital camera capable of using speed, take a look at the full sale.
