Sony detailed how the owners of PlayStation VR
will be able to acquire a free PlayStation Camera adapter to allow their virtual reality headset to work with PS5.The first step is to visit the Sony support page
for owners of a PS VR headset (models CUH-ZEY1 or CUH-ZEY2) and request the PS4 PlayStation camera adapter to work on PS5. If you didn’t know, the PS5’s HD camera isn’t compatible with the original PSVR, so this will be the only current option for those looking to bring their PSVR with them to the next generation.
Once received, you can plug the PlayStation Camera Adapter into the USB Type-A port on the back of your PS5 console and then connect the PlayStation Camera to the AUX port of the adapter.
If you would like to pick up any of these adapters, you will need to provide the serial number, first name, last name, email address, shipping address, and phone number of your PSVR processor. Your serial number can be found on the rear panel of the PSVR processor.
Only one PlayStation Camera Adapter can be used per household. All regions should be eligible, but check the support page to make sure.
The PlayStation Camera Adapter will be covered by a manufacturer’s warranty for 12 months from the date of delivery.
