The company says the solar-powered remote control will help “avoid wasting the 99 million AAA batteries planned over seven years.” Of course, you can help alleviate this by using rechargeable batteries in the first place, but a solar powered remote control would at least reduce reliance on them. Samsung said it is also taking steps to increase green packaging in 2021.
The Solar Cell remote control will be included with all Samsung TVs in 2021.
