Thanks in part to Nintendo Gigaleak, The Super Mario World soundtrack has been restored and gives fans of the classic game a chance to hear some of the most iconic songs before they get squeezed for an SNES cartridge. These tracks, which you can listen to here, were restored by a group of people and shared by @LeBrickster on Twitter and Youtube. This was made possible because the Nintendo Gigaleak included the source code for Super Mario Advance from Game Boy Advance, which by chance re-used samples from Super Mario World. The samples discovered bore the names of the instruments used in Super Mario World, which helped restore the original tracks.

@LeBrickster has also handled complaints that the restored tracks “don’t sound good” and that many “prefer the originals”. They mention that these “leads probably weren’t designed with the full fixes in mind.” “What if [Koji] Kondo wasn’t limited to the small size of the sounding ram, and he could use the sounds to the fullest? We may never know if he did, of course, since no demo version of tracks for Super Mario World have ever been officially released, but I think these would be similar to such tracks. “They also mention that this was just done” for fun, like a kind of ‘what if’, “and is meant to give the world a chance to hear what these songs might sound like before they were compressed into being. used on SNES.
