The Braves are criticized for a poor choice of words.

The Braves, with a questionable tomahawk placement in their statement, responded to the MLB decision to move the 2021 All-Star Game and MLB Draft from Atlanta amid controversial new voting rights law. Georgia.

The statement reads as follows:

The Atlanta Braves are deeply disappointed with Major League Baseball’s decision to move its 2021 All Star Game.

It was neither our decision nor our recommendation and we are saddened that the fans cannot see this event in our city. The Braves organization will continue to stress the importance of equal voting opportunities and we had hoped that our city could use this event as a platform to enrich the discussion. Our city has always been known as oneness in divided times and we will miss the opportunity to address issues of importance to our community.

Sadly, businesses, employees and fans in Georgia are the victims of this decision.

We will continue to support community heritage projects that have been planned and are underway.

FAGAN: Moving All-Star Game is a surprise move for MLB

MLB said they discussed the decision to move the game from Atlanta with players – past and present – and clubs to make a decision, ultimately believing the new election law being implemented in Georgia is something the league just can not support.

As the Braves try to blame MLB, perhaps smarter speech than simply “It’s their fault!” and finger pointing should be the order of the day when discussing the controversial Voters Act. Twitter, unfortunately, is not a space of nuance.

Either way, others felt the same, and the dull and weak response from the Atlanta organization to MLB moving the All-Star Game received a lot of warmth from fans, writers and more. again Friday.
