Biden, who will take office on Jan. 20, said during the election campaign that he would quickly reverse Trump’s policies in Cuba that “have inflicted damage on the Cuban people and have done nothing to advance democracy and human rights”.
The Trump administration announced on Monday that it was returning Cuba to the U.S. list of terrorist sponsor states, a move that could complicate efforts by the new Biden administration to re-launch Obama-era detente with Havana.
