What channel is NASCAR racing on today? What time does the NASCAR race start? Racing fans ask these questions every weekend during the NASCAR Cup Series season. In the first half of the 2021 season, the answer will start with Fox or FS1.

On Sunday February 14, Fox will air the NASCAR demo event, the Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway. The 63rd edition of the Great American Race will also be the opening race of the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series season.

With track attendance limited this year to around 30,000 due to COVID-19 protocols, it is increasingly important to be able to watch the race live on TV. Luckily for the fans, there will be a few ways to do this.

Fox will provide flag-to-flag coverage for the 63rd Daytona 500. The network is entering its 21st season covering the NASCAR Cup Series, and this year’s race will be Fox Sports’ 18th.

The race will be started by announcer Mike Joy and analysts Jeff Gordon, Clint Bowyer and Larry McReynolds. This will be Joy’s 42nd Daytona 500, counting her television and radio work. Bowyer is in his first season at the Fox booth after retiring from racing full time last year.

The network will employ three reporters at the booth: Jamie Little, Regan Smith and Vince Welch.

The “NASCAR RaceDay” preview show will premiere on FS1 at 11 am ET, then switch to Fox at 1 pm ET. Chris Myers and Shannon Spake will be the hosts, while Gordon, Bowyer, McReynolds, Michael Waltrip, Bobby Labonte and Tom Rinaldi will provide additional coverage.

What time does the Daytona 500 start today?

Start time: 2:30 p.m. ET

NASCAR lists 2:30 a.m. as the race start time, but the televised pre-race ceremonies will likely push the green flag back around 3 p.m. ET.
