Warner Bros. uses Wonder Woman 1984 at push HBO Max, but what happens in countries where streaming service (or an equivalent partner) is just not an option? First rentals, apparently. Deadline and Variety confirmed WW84 will be available for 48-hour digital rental in the UK and Ireland on January 13, just under a month after the superhero film’s theatrical debut on December 16 in the country. Notably, the movie will still be in theaters after that date – the ones that are still open during the COVID-19 pandemic, anyway.
The studio did not say what services would offer Wonder Woman 1984, although it should be available through multiple outlets. Main options available include Amazon Prime Video, Apple’s TV app, Google Play, and UK-specific outlets like BT TV and TalkTalk TV. It is also uncertain if other films will follow this path, although it is possible when Warner Bros. said all his 2021 movies would debut on HBO Max in the United States.
