WWE Hall of Fame Booker T stated that King Corbin was a better King of the Ring winner than Stone Cold Steve Austin.
Booker T is a two-time Hall of Famer, multiple world champion, and won the King of the Ring tournament in 2006.
On his Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T was asked who is WWE’s best “king” besides himself. He said King Corbin tried to recreate what he did when he became King and said the SmackDown star is possibly the best King of the Ring winner after him.
“You know, I keep it real, apart from me – King Booker was the most majestic king who wore the crown, the one who adorned the robe, the royal scepter, as well as the badge … he didn’t ‘There was only one king that I can really think of as far as, you know, step up and honestly is King Corbin. No I’m serious. I appreciate all the kings that have come, but Corbin really took the role like I did, he believed in the role of creating, you know, for me, my own world, the world of SmackDown, the realm of SmackDown. It’s something that Corbin tried to recreate, so I give Corbin … a lot of guys that wore the dress – they just wore the dress, they just wore the crown. You know I told Steve Austin and the best kings about it. You know, they have had Steve Austin at No. 1 (best King of the Ring poll) and I’m going, “How’s it going? That’s what the polls say. Fake polls. I would give evil to King Corbin. “
Booker T said many of the King of the Ring winners didn’t really dive into the character and instead wore the robes and crowns that come with winning the tournament.
