For those wondering “What time is NASCAR racing today?” the answer is slightly different from the usual one for this week’s race.
A later start time is scheduled for Sunday’s race, but the green flag may well wave afterwards as the rain threatens to delay the start.
In other words, NASCAR fans may qualify for a Bristol Night Race at the end of March.
Below you’ll find everything you need to know about the schedule for Sunday’s Food City Dirt Race in Bristol.

What time does the NASCAR race start today?
- Dated: Sunday March 28
- Start time: 3:30 p.m. ET (TV time)
The green flag for Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series race at Bristol Motor Speedway is expected to be waved at 4 p.m. ET, but that start time could be optimistic due to the weather.
Rain is forecast for much of Sunday in Bristol, Tennessee. The National Weather Service predicts “Showers and thunderstorms before noon, then showers likely.” Temperatures will be in the mid-60s and wind gusts could reach 25 mph. The meteorological service assesses the risk of rain at 90%.
Heavy rain would make the Bristol dirt road nowhere to be found for a second day in a row. NASCAR canceled qualifying races for the Cup and Truck series and postponed the main Truck Series race on Saturday due to bad weather.
