Adult Swim presents Rick and Morty Babies for April Fool’s Day

Adult Swim kicked off this year’s April Fool’s Day shenanigans with a preview of Rick and morty Babies, a kid-friendly version of the network’s animated sci-fi sitcom. Twitter timelines on April 1, aka April Fool’s Day, when the “Adult Swim Junior” initiative kicked off with a pint-sized, kid-voiced episode of Rick and Morty. Adult Swim shared the opening credits for the episode, referencing several other children’s cartoons, ahead of the junior edition of Total Rickall, the fourth episode of the second season.

Adult Swim also showed their dedication to the annual Deception Day by releasing another trailer for a block of programs in preview on its Adult Swim Junior channel, featuring “age-appropriate shows for growing minds and for growing sense of humor,” like The Venture Nephews (formerly The Venture Bros.) and Space Kid Crib to Crib (formerly Space Ghost Coast to Coast), among others.

No one needs to throw their toys out of the pram for this prank; Adult Swim is widely known to participate in the Fourth Month silliness every year. Previous celebrations included things like surprise launch of the highly anticipated first episode of season 3 of Rick and Morty, and a Anarchic reinvention of the show by Australian host Michael Cusack.

However, if you’re looking for a return to regular programming, book a seat on the sofa for the Rick and Morty Season 5 premiere, set to debut on June 20, aka Rick and Morty Day, a day of celebration for the show that will offer behind-the-scenes footage, perspectives for the rest of the season and “special surprises” across television, digital and social media platforms.
