It’s a new year and the first official Grand Slam has arrived. While there has been a lot of uncertainty as to whether this event will happen, things will officially start on Sunday, February 7.

World No. 1 Ash Barty and Novak Djokovic have the best seeds. Djokovic is the reigning champion on the men’s side while American Sofia Kenin won the trophy last year on the women’s side. Kenin is seeded fourth this year and 2019 US Open champion Bianca Andreescu, after a 15-month absence, is about to bring her back.

Roger Federer has chosen to skip this year’s tournament, but Serena Williams and Rafael Nadal are expected to participate, for now. Williams withdrew from a tune-up tournament on Friday with a shoulder injury, but she is confident she will be fine. Nadal did not play in the ATP Cup for Spain due to comeback issues.

The tournament is also filled with young people who will be looking to make 2021 their year. A rising star will come out at the end of the first round as number 11 Dennis Shapovalov and Jannik Sinner meet in a young gun clash.

Here’s the full 2021 Australian Open schedule, including the TV coverage breakdown and the order of play for each round.
