Ryan Coogler to expand Black Panther universe with a new Disney + series based in the Kingdom of Wakanda. Disney has signed an exclusive five-year television contract with Coogler’s Proximity Media, and the series is one of the projects Black Panther The director / co-writer will work on the company’s streaming service. The deal could also lead to other shows being developed by Proximity Media, although Marvel ad didn’t mention anything about potential new shows.

Coogler, who is currently working on the second film of the Black Panther franchise, said its production company was “already in the mix on some projects.” He also revealed that Proximity will work closely with Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso and their partners at Marvel Studios “on some MCU shows for Disney +.”
