Arn Anderson believes Brock Lesnar is the favorite to win the 2021 WWE Match Royal Rumble for men.
This year’s WWE Royal Rumble event will take place on Sunday, January 31. At the time of writing, 17 Superstars have been announced for the 30-player game, including Daniel Bryan and Edge. Brock Lesnar, however, is not announced for the show.
Speaking on his RNA podcast, Arn Anderson was asked to reveal his choice to win this year’s game. He immediately chose Brock Lesnar, despite the uncertainty surrounding The Beast’s contractual status with WWE at this time.
“The Rumble is always an exciting show because there is so much that can happen in a match of an hour or more. Gosh, I’m just gonna go. How don’t you count Brock Lesnar as the number one candidate? I mean, to even skip it, how do you do that?
“You’d be stupid if you look back and say, ‘Okay, that wasn’t my first choice,’ because that’s the guy – I have no idea his contractual status – but it’s the guy who always looms in the dark. This is the Boogeyman, the real one.
Brock Lesnar has not appeared in WWE since losing the WWE Championship to Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania 36.
Brock Lesnar’s current status in WWE
It is not known if and when Brock Lesnar will compete in WWE again. Eight-time World Champion and WWE contract talks would have hit a dead end in 2020, which means he became a free agent.
Although Brock Lesnar’s merchandise has been removed from the WWE Shop, his name is still mentioned on WWE TV and WWE social media platforms.
