American Jennifer Brady is in the Australian Open final after defeat Czech Karolina Muchova.
Brady was forced into her toughest game yet, Muchova pushing her to a difficult three sets with the pair trading blows in an exciting climax as the 22 seed tried to serve him.
As Brady tried to close the match, Muchova stood up to play some of her best tennis with her back against the wall. In a battle within the battle that lasted over 10 minutes, with Brady leading 5-4, the last game of the game was sawn through five-two before Brady won in his fifth game point to defeat Muchova, 6-3 4-6 6-4.
However, Brady’s victory didn’t come without an awkward blunder after the American fell to her knees in celebration after thinking she had sealed the game moments earlier.
On her second match point, leading 40-30, Brady threw a powerful backhand that Muchova threw straight into the net.
But the American’s backhand was ruled out, with Hawk-Eye Live tech showing the ball landed millimeters outside the field as Brady and a number of fans cheered in a mistaken celebration.
“She thought she won,” Jelena Dokic said on the cover of Nine.
“I did a similar thing here in 2005 or 2006.”

Despite making it to the final, Brady admitted she was far from her best today, revealing after the game that her legs felt like they were “stuck in the mud”.
“I can’t feel my legs. My legs are shaking and my heart is pounding, ”she says.
“After the first set, I was like, ‘Okay, let’s focus here Jenny. “
“I felt a little strange today. I was super excited but at the same time, I was pretty flat. My legs were cool but at the same time they just weren’t moving.
“I felt stuck in the mud. I didn’t really regain my intensity until the start of the third set.”
Brady will face Naomi Osaka seed n ° 3 in the women’s final on Saturday.
