Borderlands 3 Broken Heart Event of the Day, Director’s Cut add-on and more coming to Xbox

Must read

Get ready for another huge dose of Borderlands 3 chaos because we don’t slow down:

The fan favorite Day of broken hearts the event returns on February 11, free to anyone who owns a copy of the game; the award-winning narrative adventure game Tales of the Borderlands returns to Xbox One and Xbox Series X | S via backward compatibility on February 17; and on March 18, Director’s Cup add-on debuts as part of Season Pass 2 (though it’s also available separately). Ready to learn more? Let’s jump!

For the second year in a row, Borderlands 3 Day of broken hearts event once again mixes love and mayhem, giving you a chance to score limited-time loot. The optional event affects enemies across the Borderlands 3 galaxy, swirling colorful hearts around love-craving villains.

Shooting these hearts unleashes all kinds of unique buffs and effects, from fiery blasts to enemies temporarily forced to fight on your behalf, wreaking havoc on the battlefield. And if you’re lucky, some hearts will even shower you with bonus loot!

Free Seasonal Event Available on Xbox One and Xbox Series X Consoles | S and starts from Thursday February 11 to Thursday February 25.

Fancy a hilarious adventure? Well, look no further! The critically acclaimed Tales of the Borderlands is back! For those unfamiliar with this storytelling-driven adventure game created by Telltale Games initially released episodically in 2014 and 2015. It featured infamous characters like Rhys and Vaughn, revived Handsome Jack as a manipulative hologram, we showed what happened to Scooter and more! Tales of the Borderlands is an essential part of Borderlands cannon and helps bridge the gap between Borderlands 2 and 3. (We would also say this is one of the funniest games ever.)

Tales of the Borderlands launches for Xbox One on February 17th. If you prefer to play Tales on your new Xbox Series X | S, don’t worry, this is a backward compatible title.

The Director’s Cup add-on, the last Borderlands 3 content, will be available individually or as part of Season Pass 2 starting March 18 (note that you will need to own a copy of the base game in order to play the add-on or any other Season Pass 2 content).

Director’s Cut features a series of new story-driven missions set across the Borderlands, three sets of daily and weekly challenges called Vault Cards that can be completed for one-time loot and cosmetic rewards, a collection of never-before-seen behind-the-scenes content, and… a full raid leader!

Hemovorous the Invincible is a titanic Varkid and perhaps the craziest Borderlands raid boss again. You’re going to have to think about your construction and combat tactics to be successful. So grab some friends and get ready to get caught up in Varkid’s guts – it’s going to get messy! And here’s a fun fact: you’ll find Hemovorous behind a Pandora door that’s been locked since launch – yes, this door. The mystery is finally solved!

In the all-new story-driven missions, you’ll investigate a series of potentially supernatural murders on Pandora, Promethea, Eden-6, and Nekrotafeyo in search of answers (and loot) using familiar faces. You’ll see new locations and use a new crime scene analysis mechanic to solve puzzles and advance the story (which aside from being its own satisfying, black-soaked storyline, also links to the narrative more large).

Oh, and here’s another surprise: a new set of Multiverse Cosmetic Packs!

With the Disciples of the Vault packs, you will be able to see what each Vault Hunter would have become if they had been influenced by the Calypso Twins and joined the Vault Children. Like the Final Form cosmetic packs that launched last November, the Disciples of the Vault packs feature entirely new character models for each of the four Vault Hunters, rather than just skins. You can buy them à la carte or get them by purchasing Season Pass 2. In any case, the Disciples of the Vault packs will launch on the same day as Director’s Cut: March 18th.
