Brisbane received good news this morning with star forward John Asiata cleared of any major shoulder injuries.
Asiata was one of two Broncos taken to hospital during a nightmare at the start of the 2021 season when he suffered a neck / shoulder injury in a serious collision with the forward. Eels Keegan Hipgrave.
The former Cowboy managed just five touches of the ball on his debut for the Broncos in a brutal game before collapsing to the ground and being transported off the field and taken to hospital.
But this morning his manager Chris Orr got some positive news.
“It doesn’t look good but luckily it’s okay,” Orr told Wide World of Sports.
“It was just a bad burner and there is no structural damage.”
The Broncos were flying high at 16-0 at the start of a new era under Kevvie Walters forward injuries and fatigue overcame them.
Star winger Xavier Coates injured his neck making a spectacular dive to score his second try, while propeller Matt Lodge suffered a hamstring tear.
The extent of these two injuries should be known later today.
