Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Warzone Season 2 begins February 25

It looks like a great year for the Xbox Series X | S and Xbox One as Call of Duty: Cold War Black Ops presents its second season rich in content, with four new maps, six free weapons, new Warzone points of interest, and best of all, the new Zombies experience, Outbreak.

Here’s some of the content to look forward to in season two, which drops on February 25:

New multiplayer maps

• Apocalypse (6v6, launch week)Descend into a Laotian jungle cartel base in the heart of the Golden Triangle of Apocalypse, a small to medium-sized map designed for aggressive combat in and around the Temple Fortress.

• Golova (multi-team, in season): What appears to be a picturesque Russian village in the Urals plains is truly a testing ground for the expansion of the Numbers program designed by Nikita Dragovich. Engage in fierce battles throughout the sleepy city, from a massive church to its rows of houses and industrial park.

• Manor (2v2, 3v3, in season): Located in Havana, Cuba, in the Hefe Mansion (last seen in the campaign’s “End of the Line” mission), this new Gunfight and Face Off map features expansive courtyards around a central room wrapped with an exposed balcony that can serve as a power position.

• Miami Strike (6v6, seasonal): Arise and shine, Miami … soon it will be time to infiltrate in broad daylight. As the sun shines on the colorful murals, the action will focus on a smaller daytime interpretation of the original map. The heat is always on the streets of Miami.

New multiplayer modes

• Gun Game (free for all, launch week): The fan favorite board game mode is back! Progress through a set of 20 weapons, starting with a pistol and ending with a knife. Push back enemies by taking them out with a melee attack or finishing blow. The first player to kill an enemy with each weapon wins the match.

• Stocks (6v6, launch week): Stockpile mixes Kill Confirmed and Hardpoint together for a fast and heavy objective play mode. Eliminate enemies, collect their ID tags, and drop them off at the rotating drop sites. Operators can carry and drop multiple ID plates at once for a huge increase in score and XP. But get out and your tags will scatter for others to take.

• Hardpoint (multi-team, in season): Deploy on the largest cards of Cold War Black Ops in this team-based mode that charges 10 teams of four with the capture and defense of three Hardpoint hills. The hills rotate every 120 seconds and the first team to reach 500 seconds of total target time wins the match.

Six new weapons to win

Season two brings some serious firepower with the addition of six new weapons:

• FARA 83 (FREE at level 15) – This rapid-fire assault rifle is devastating in the hands of skilled operators who can control its reliable accuracy and slower handling.
• LC10 (FREE at level 31) – A well-balanced fully automatic SMG that rivals in the mid-range due to its solid precision and extended effective damage range.

Unlock four more weapons – the R1 Shadowhunter, Machete, ZRG 20mm bolt-action sniper rifle, and the E-Tool tri-fold military shovel – by completing in-game challenges to earn the base weapon or purchasing a set with the version of the plan. when it appears in the Store.

New Zombie Experience: Outbreak

Interconnected with the Dark Aether storyline, Outbreak instructs players to play by objectives on the largest multiplayer maps of Cold War Black Ops.

Hunt down elite enemies using a satellite tracker, escort a rover that detects dimensional portals, or resist zombies in the confined regions of the Dark Aether – complete your objectives and gain access to the Exfil site. Are you going to escape via the helicopter or try your luck in the Dark Aether portal for some extra rewards?

New Field Upgrade: Frenzied Guard

Relax your teammates with Frenzied Guard, a new field buff that, upon activation, causes all dead creatures to attack the user for 10 seconds, during which time only armor will take damage.

Use Etherium Crystals to upgrade Frenzied Guard with powerful modifiers, such as repairing all armor upon activation, increasing ability duration to 15 seconds, and slowing normal enemies when are active.

New Ammo Mod: Shatter Blast

Turn heavy zombies into minced meat using the new Shatter Blast ammo mod, which causes all bullets to deal explosive damage. Upgrade the skill to deal bonus explosive damage to nearby enemies, take down normal enemies, and double the size of the explosion.

Improve your skills to levels IV and V

Two new types of Etherium Crystals – Refined and Flawless – can now be earned and used to upgrade your skills in Levels IV and V. High rounds in traditional zombies or complete multiple Outbreak experiences in a single race for a chance to win these new crystals.

New game modes, points of interest Warzone

The new season brings a new loot pool to Warzone, including new weapons and operators for Season 2. Plus, play new game modes and explore two new points of interest in Verdansk.

In Exfiltration, players must locate a portable radio in Verdansk and keep it for a set period of time to win the game. The player holding the radio is marked on the Tac card with a stopwatch showing how long before winning. Prepare for frenzied combat in Rebirth Island Resurgence Extreme, a limited-time mode for up to 90 players.

As for the new points of interest, initial information suggests that a tanker has escaped radar, while whispers around Verdansk indicate something is happening beneath its surface. Explore these new areas at your own risk.

New Battle Pass, Prestige Levels and more

Season two brings all of this and more with a new Battle Pass, four new playable Operators – Naga, Maxis, Wolf and Rivas – new Prestige Tiers, the Death Machine Scorestreak, Outbreak Vehicles, a new set of Multiplayer Challenges and Zombies, and more.
