Capcom unveils three stories of Monster Hunter 2 Amiibo figures

Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin already has a new trailer and deluxe edition (read more here), but Amiibo collectors will be happy to know that new miniatures based on the game are also on the way. The numbers are based on the characters Ena, Razewing Ratha, and Tsukino and should look good on a shelf while also providing in-game benefits.

In addition to looking stylish, scanning the in-game Amiibo unlocks three different sets of layered armor as well as unspecified daily challenges. The numbers will be available when the game launches on July 9 exclusively through GameStop in the US and EB Games in Canada (disclaimer: GameStop is the parent company of Game Informer). Information on when and how to pre-order the figures will be provided later.

The previous Monster Hunter Stories game was supported by Amiibo, and Nintendo announced last September that Monster Hunter Rise will have its own. Amiibo figures also, so maybe this news is not the most surprising in the world. Still, if you’re a fan of the show looking for more physical portrayals of that passion, your wish is granted. If you missed this morning’s Monster Hunter Twitch showcase, Capcom has also released some new details on Monster Hunter Rise, such as an exclusive new demo ahead of its March 26 launch.
