Cyberpunk 2077 is less than a week old, but the game has already received serious criticism, especially for its performance on older-generation consoles. Graphics issues plagued the title, while other issues made it difficult for players to complete quests, which led its creator, CD Projekt Red (CDPR), to issue of a fix to eliminate some of the more serious problems. The company admits, however, that there is still a long way to go and has issued a new statement apologizing for “not showing the game on next-gen base consoles” before its release. He also promised to embark on another round of updates to bring Cyberpunk 2077 up to parity with next-gen and PC versions.

Players can expect a number of updates over the coming months. The first will be available in the next seven days, with smaller versions likely to follow. CDPR will release what it calls patch # 1 in January, followed by patch # 2 in February. These “should solve the most important issues that gamers face on the latest generation consoles,” the company says. “They won’t make the game of the last generation look like it runs on a high-end PC or a next-gen console, but it will be closer to that experience than it is now,” he added.
