Elon Musk did headlines again this week. As usual, was it something involving Mars, memes, Tesla and … monkey brain implants? These and other topics were the subject of a conversation Musk had on Clubhouse, the voice chat app that’s great with Silicon Valley VC guys. But Musk’s appearance may have been a turning point for the app that brought her into the mainstream. After Musk’s talk, Clubhouse’s user base nearly doubled from 3 million to 5 million almost overnight. It’s a powerful and popular format, and one that other social media companies are keen on building up in.
This week on Gadget Lab, former show co-host and senior WIRED writer Arielle Pardes joins us to discuss Elon, the Clubhouse, and where this kind of social platform is going.
