Disney World added digital masks to guests in ride photos

Disney World is unsurprisingly determined to enforce mask wear during the COVID-19 pandemic, but it has led to some unusual experimentation with the technology. Disney said WDW News Today in one declaration that it ended a recent practice of digitally placing masks on the faces of theme park visitors who are discovered in photos of rides. It was a test “in response to customer requests,” Disney said, although it does not explain why he started or stopped the practice.

Recently guests like Facebook user Tony Townsend Note practice for some rides, including Dinosaur (above) and Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin. Many believe the digital changes were meant to discourage cyclists from taking off their goggles for the sake of a photo – people are theoretically less likely to endanger others if they know they’ll be seen wearing a goggle anyway.
