The DJI Osmo Pocket is a 3-axis stabilized portable camera that’s small (and light) enough to fit in your pocket or purse. When it was the first released, the president of the company, Roger Luo, called it a “portable personal camera team” for everyone from professionals to travelers and adventurers. The device can capture your adventures on video, but it can also take regular 12-megapixel photos and 4- or 9-frame panoramas.
It has a one-inch touchscreen that gives you access to certain features, including ActiveTrack, which tells the camera to track particular subjects. The device has a 1 1 / 2.3-inch sensor, two microphones, support for microSD cards up to 256 GB and a battery life of up to 140 minutes when using. shooting 1080p / 30 fps video. It can shoot videos with 4K Ultra HD resolution as well, although this does reduce battery life by around 20 minutes. When it comes to software, DJI’s Mimo app will give you access to device settings and help you edit and share any footage you take.
That said, the Osmo Pocket is not waterproof and does not have a 3.5mm jack. DJI has also released a newer model (with a larger sensor and higher megapixel count) called the Pocket 2 last year for $ 349. Still, $ 199 for the Osmo Pocket is a steal if you’ve been looking at the camera for a while.
