Must read

[ad_1]

As always, we’ll be looking at the news of the week, looking for strengths in everything from mobile devices and TVs to accessibility tech. In the context of a global pandemic, we expect that medical devices and technologies designed to help us recover from crises more generally will be of particular importance this year.

While our editorial team compiles a comprehensive list of applicants, we also welcome submissions from the public.

Eligibility criteria

To be considered, a product must meet the following criteria:

  • Nominees must be official exhibitors or attendees of CES 2020.

  • The product doesn’t need to have been announced at CES, but it still helps. Obviously, it also shouldn’t be more than a year old.

Submission process

If you would like to submit something for review, make sure you meet our eligibility criteria and then enter all of your information in this submission form. Submissions will remain open until 11:59 p.m. ET on the evening of Saturday, January 9. Please include the following required elements for a product to be considered:

Product Name

When possible, companies should also submit the following documents:

How we judge

As journalists, we are committed to respecting a fair and impartial process for selecting winners in our various categories. While the Audience Choice winner will be selected by our readers, the remaining prizes will be awarded by Engadget staff, without any input or direction from our parent company Verizon Media (a subsidiary of Verizon).

Engadget editors may also nominate products in all categories (except People’s Choice), and those nominations will be evaluated to the same standards as all other submissions. We will judge the products according to the following criteria:

  • Innovation

  • Design

  • Market appeal

  • Functionality

After all submissions have been reviewed, Engadget’s editorial staff will review all submitted products, narrowing the list to two to four finalists per category. On Tuesday January 12, 2020, we will also open the public voting for the public award. In this poll, our readers will choose from the list of editorial team finalists.

Once we announce our finalists, our editorial team will meet to assess the entire list and narrow the selection to one standout pick by category. All winners will be announced on Wednesday January 13, 2020 from our virtual stage. This show will be available on our home page and Youtube channel.
