ESL Premiership welcomes Wild Rift for UK, Ireland and Nordic countries

League of Legends: Wild Rift is set to have its first major tournament for Europe, as it is finally hosted by the ESL Premiership.

Wild Rift is still in its beta phase, and it was only recently that access to the game’s server was opened to some additional regions, with the The Americas will follow soon March 29.

The League of Legends based mobile game continues to gain popularity in regions that have access to it. Europe, which finally gets its first tournament in the game, is sure to boost the Wild Rift esports scene.

In a recent tweet, ESL Premiership announced that it will host Savage rift to the fold and the organization of competitive events for the United Kingdom, Ireland and the Nordic countries.

The tweet reads as follows:

“It’s a historic moment to bring a mobile title to the ESL Premiership. Wild Rift is the perfect game to bring this unique experience to the UK, Ireland and the Nordic countries. “

For those who don’t know, the ESL Premiership is one of the oldest tournaments in Europe, and it’s best known for showcasing Valve’s first-person shooter, CS: GO.

The ESL Premiership was previously limited to the UK and Ireland. However, for Wild Rift, they will also open their doors to Nordic nations. People from Denmark, the Faroe Islands, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden will be able to participate in the open qualifiers.

ESL Wild Rift Premiership Schedule and Format

As mentioned above, the ESL Wild Rift Premiership will boast of having open qualifiers, where anyone can participate.

The competition will feature a prize pool of ÂŁ 5,000 (approx. $ 6,970) and entries for the open qualifiers have already started.

Before the start of the main event, there will be two qualifying rounds taking place on April 3 and 4. The top four teams from each of the playoffs will then be eligible to enter the spring 2021 season of the ESL Wild Rift Premiership.

The eight teams that advance to the main event will then advance to the group stage, before the play-offs take place in a round robin format.

The ESL Wild Rift Spring 2021 season will conclude with the finals, which will take place on June 19 and 20. Fans will be able to see European Wild Rift pros in action on the ESL League of Legends Twitch Channel from April 20.

Even though the game is still in beta, the Wild Rift esports scene is slowly starting in the available regions.

Riot previously mentioned that due to the delayed release in the Americas, the region receive exclusive events, and fans are excited about the servers to put online March 29.
