Hey, any interest in hearing an NFL take specifically designed to elicit an emotional response? Well, here is Colin Cowherd!
The FS1 bloviator picked up his mic on Tuesday’s edition of “The Herd” and decided it was time to drop a nuclear sport opinion on its audience. Patrick Mahomes’ status for Sunday’s AFC Championship game on hold with Chiefs quarterback still in the NFL concussion protocol, so Cowherd suggested the league should just wait until they are healthy before the game between Buffalo and Kansas City is played.
“We want Mahomes against [Bills QB] Josh Allen. It’s reasonable, ”Cowherd said. I’m sitting here this morning thinking that if I’m the NFL, Patrick Mahomes is going through protocol. I find that the day Patrick Mahomes can play – that’s where we play. “
Oh my ……. Colin Cowherd thinks the NFL should postpone the AFC Championship game on Sunday until Patrick Mahomes is cleared to play. pic.twitter.com/TUb0gWe7T1

If that’s what Cowherd really thinks, then he should have gone one step further and called the NFL so he didn’t interrupt the division game that Mahomes was injured in and wait until he was ready to return. Is it really fair to say the Chiefs beat the Browns when Chad henne Was the guy jostling on the last record? To the time machine!
But Cowherd doesn’t really care. He knows how ridiculous his words are. He doesn’t care to come up with a meaningful idea, just an idea that freaks people out. (And he did his job. Just check out the answers to this tweet.)
As for Mahomes, the 25-year-old has taken “big steps” in the concussion protocol, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, although it’s still unclear whether he’ll be available against the bills. If Mahomes is ruled out, perhaps the Chiefs can ask Cowherd to draft a special petition explaining why the NFL should take the unprecedented step of suspending a conference championship game as a star player continues to recover. Let’s put it off a month just to be safe.
It’s reasonable, isn’t it?
