Google adds document editing to Gmail attachments

“When you receive a Word document as an email attachment, you can open it and start editing it in Docs with one click while keeping the Word file format,” Google Explain. “You can then reply to the original thread and include the updated file, directly from Docs. You save time by eliminating steps such as uploading the file to edit or finding the e- relevant email to link it to. “

The update is now starting to roll out to Google Workspace, although the company notes that it could take two weeks to appear to everyone. It’s unclear whether the company plans to offer the feature on the standard consumer version of Gmail as well.
