The Indian team are preparing for the last leg of their long series at home against England. Before the ODI, the team arrived in Pune where all three matches are expected to be played.
According to Hindustan Times, the Indian cricket team flew from Ahmedabad to Pune on a chartered flight and arrived at their destination around 4:45 p.m. Sunday.
The team then proceeded to the Conrad Pune hotel, where they will be staying next week.
Many Team India players have shared updates with their fans on their social media handles. While Hardik pandya shared a photo with his son Agastya in flight, Rohit sharma shared a selfie from the team bus.
Team India to play ODI match after more than three months
Team India last played in the 50 format in the December 2020 game against Australia. In this three-game ODI series, the team lost the first two games before winning the third as consolation.
They will be eager to make amends in the next series against England. The India team is in full confidence right now after victories in the Test and T20I series.
However, they will have to be wary of the fact that England are the ICC’s No.1 ranked ODI team. India will need to be at their peak if they are to pull off a hat-trick with a win in the ODI Series as well. If India manages to achieve a clean sweep in this series, they will rise to the top of the ICC ODI team standings with 120 ranking points.
A 2-1 series win would mean they will continue in second place even if New Zealand wins their next two ODI matches against Bangladesh. However, a 1-2 or 0-3 loss could see India fall behind New Zealand in third place, especially if the Kiwis win their next two games.
