If only the Oscars were considering the NBA nominees, then Jimmy Butler might have won an Oscar nomination for how he tried to sell a foul at the end of Miami’s win over New York.
Whether you think of his performance as a drama or a comedy – or both – likely depends on your NBA allegiance. Anyway, it was spectacular.
Butler tried his acting skills while selling a glaring foul with 4.8 seconds left in a 98-96 win. He certainly appeared hurting before he looked slyly under his hands and casually jumped when he knew he wasn’t getting the call.

Butler hasn’t stopped hammering him either. After the game, he told HEATv’s Jason Jackson with a straight face that he thought he had suffered a concussion.
Hey, when you play as well as Butler did on Tuesday, you can act the way you want – he won game-highs with 26 points and 10 assists and tied a high with eight rebounds in 36 minutes. It’s Miami’s third straight win, with just one game to go against the Rockets in the first half of the season.
All it takes, right?
