Kevin holland has been confirmed as Marvin vettori new Main Event opponent for UFC Vegas 23.
Vettori’s original opponent, Darren Till, withdrew from the fight a few days ago due to an injury. Kevin Holland is now stepping in on short notice to replace Till and fight Vettori.
MMA journalist Marcel dorff reported that, according to the Vettori podcast, Marvin Vettori’s fight against Kevin Holland will indeed take place at UFC Vegas 23.
Kevin Holland’s most recent fight was a unanimous decision loss to Derek Brunson in the UFC on ESPN: Brunson vs. Holland (March 2021). On the other hand, Marvin Vettori’s most recent fight was a unanimous decision victory over Jack Hermansson in the UFC over ESPN: Hermansson vs. Vettori (December 2020).
Kevin Holland took to his official Twitter account to post a video referencing April 10, when the UFC Vegas 23 event will take place. Holland also tweeted that he had already accepted the fight. Marvin Vettori confirmed the fight via his Instagram account.
Kevin Holland carved his name in the history books last year (2020) by claiming five consecutive victories in the Octagon in a calendar year. Holland are tied with veteran MMA fighters Roger Huerta and Neil Magny for most UFC wins in a calendar year.
As 2021 approaches, the vast majority of Mma fans and experts alike expected Kevin Holland to reach great heights of success.
