The Bloober team The way straddles the thin veil between reality and the spirit world. A new gameplay trailer focuses on how the players, through the protagonist Marianne, can interact with the game world around them using his supernatural powers. You can watch the video above.
Above all, Bloober Team endeavors to answer a frequently asked question: what does media do? Marianne can notice and feel things that others will never be able to understand. These moments of sensory overload animate his intuition and his choices. Players can highlight important objects or passages in their surroundings to better understand the context of any specific situation. Additionally, Marianne can tune in to key elements so that she can relive the past (or “echoes”) – you can see examples of this above with the dress shoe.
Most importantly, Marianne can walk through the spirit world – a sort of waiting room where spirits dwell before moving on to the afterlife. Players are tasked with revealing fragments of these lost souls in order to bring them peace. I’m definitely not looking forward to a conversation with this scary little girl in a mask.
In addition to in-game footage, Bloober Team has released an updated table of system requirements for those who prefer to enter the spirit world using mouse and keyboard. You can see the picture on these specs below:
