At 200 million, Netflix has the largest subscriber base of any streaming service, although competition in the streaming space is increasing. In December, Disney reported that he had 86 million subscribers for its Disney + streaming service, alone.
Meanwhile, HBO Max is looking to make a big play this year by bringing highly anticipated films formerly slated for theatrical releases only to HBO Max streaming same day. This includes titles like Godzilla vs. Kong, Dune, and The Suicide Squad.
But with more than double the number of subscribers of its closest competitor, Netflix sits fairly atop the streaming throne. The company recently announced that it premieres a new original movie every week for the entire 2021 calendar year.
Looking forward to Netflix’s 2021, there will be new offerings like Zack Snyder’s Zombie Heist movie Army of the dead with Dave Bautista; Thunder Force with Melissa McCarthy and Octavia Spencer; and Red Notice with Dwayne Johnson, Gal Gadot and Ryan Reynolds.
