Hello everyone! I’m John Ribbins from Roll7. If you’ve never heard of us before, we’re an award-winning UK based studio that has created games like Laser league, Not a hero, OlliOlli, and OlliOlli 2. I’m here to tell you about our brand new skateboarding and platforming action game, the next sequel to the OlliOlli series, World OlliOlli.
World OlliOlli takes place in a vibrant and bizarre world in which you embark on an epic road trip in search of the legendary gods of skateboarding and become a legendary skateboarder. Venture to several lush skating spots such as Sunshine Valley or Los Vulgas, along the way, discover new places and new trails to skate, build your tricktionary, get new equipment and set new high scores by competing against friends. Grab your board and set off with the crew, the island of Radland is waiting for you!
Saving every flip, grind and grab is the first member of your team, Suze. An awesome skater herself, she will also serve as a mentor and camera operator by dropping a few pointers through the various levels. Suze is always there to encourage you to perform various tricks on sketchy spots or hit the hardest line.
The second member of your circle is Gnarly Mike. Mike is all about doing the craziest and most dangerous tricks possible and as such offers you a variety of challenges for you to improve your game on your journey.
You will also have the mystical and mysterious Chiffon who will guide you not only to the enlightenment of skateboarding, but also the magical ability to get you back on your feet unscathed when you step onto the sidewalk.
Racing your crew is the loyal, but a little silly, daddy. We don’t know what father he is, but he has that vibe, so that’s what everyone calls him. Dad is determined you’re the Chosen One, the next skate hero, and he’s determined to teach you all he can. It’s a strong team to start your quest to meet the legendary skate gods and achieve the epic tunes needed to find the mythical kingdom of Gnarvana.
Speaking of epic tunes, let’s talk about stuff. World OlliOlli has a number of tricks to master as you navigate Radland’s boardwalks, mountain trails and industrial porticoes! You can customize your character and unlock additional tips and emotes during the campaign, so you can choose moves that represent your own personal style.
And while there are a ton of different grinds, flips, grabs, and other moves, there are also traverse moves like wallrides, powerlides, and quarterpipes that can open up new routes and paths through a location. In World OlliOlli, there is usually more than one route through all of the levels, so keep your eyes peeled as you navigate each area, and you might just find a new favorite place to skate, an NPC to talk to, or a challenge to raise.
Fans familiar with the series will recognize that World OlliOlli is a true sequel to previous titles by creating that feeling of fluid platform and skateboarding combos. As a skater myself, there is nothing more satisfying than pulling off a bunch of tricks in a row and OlliOlli takes that to a crazy intense level.
World OlliOlli, while completely new, still has that essence of combo chaining at its core. On top of that, there are a ton of in-game challenges that will push your skills beyond the simple combo, causing you to skate and think about each level differently. Add to that we have an in-game leaderboard that tracks your score against your friends, leagues and rivals. There are plenty of opportunities to show off who the best skater is.
We also wanted to push the boundaries and spent a lot of time and effort making sure World OlliOlli reflects the uniqueness of skate culture and the community that binds together around skateboarding. We hope fans enjoy our take on this skate topia, be excited when unlocking a new board with a crazy design, or just smile finding the perfectly fitted tee that complements you.
We hope your journey through World OlliOlli feels like a good trip with great memories you make along the way.
