Amazon.com was sued by conservative social media platform Speak for expel the site from its servers Monday following the riots at the United States Capitol.
The site, which describes itself as an “alternative to microblogging and a competitor to TwitterWas taken offline early Monday morning by Amazon’s cloud services division. Apple and Alphabet’s Google had previously removed Parler from its app stores.
Parler filed an antitrust lawsuit in federal court in Seattle seeking an order forcing Amazon Web Services to maintain its account. It says Amazon is required to provide 30 days notice before terminating its service.

An Amazon Web Services spokesperson declined to comment on the lawsuit.
Internet backbone
AWS is by far the largest cloud computing provider, and its on-demand software services are the backbone of many of the most popular Internet services.
Amazon said it could not provide services to “a customer unable to effectively identify and remove content that encourages or incites violence.”
