Pinterest has expanded its Try the feature with a new makeup category: eyeshadow. The app will now give you a way to virtually try eye shadow products from Lancome, YSL, Urban Decay, and NYX Cosmetics. You can access the selection by tapping the Lens camera in the Pinterest app on your phone and choosing one of the 4,000 shades available. Since many of the choices can be overwhelming, Pinterest gives you the option to filter the results based on your skin tone. It will also show you the recommended “related looks” for the available products.
The website first introduced the Try On feature last year with lipsticks from Sephora, Urban Decay, NYX and Lancôme. Like these products, the eyeshadows you can try are all purchasable – their pins even have a direct link to the retailer. As there are now two types of products that you can use in augmented reality, you will now be able to switch between lip and eye gazes in the Lens camera.
