“Anyone who knows my dad knows he worked really hard to get to where he is and he doesn’t deserve this.

“We’re so grateful to be safe and no one was hurt, but it’s a horribly intrusive feeling to know someone would do something so violent and disrespectful.”

The Warren family are pleading for information that could lead to the return of the ring.

Warren’s son Mark reposted Holly’s post on Instagram and called the thieves a “cowardly scum.”

“I also feel a sense of helplessness, that this scum, could take a precious piece of family from daddy’s Hall of Fame ring @nrl that night, so special on so many levels to us,” said writes Mark.

“When I left after this origin I thought it was that,” Warren told the Sydney Morning Herald.

“So I thought, ‘Wait, I had done something that I had never done before’: stop the tube. I never considered not being at the event, once, but it was was the reality of calling last year.
