Earlier this month, New Elden Ring trailer leaked, further igniting rumors that a new reveal was underway this month. Now, a new report suggests that the rumored reveal for Elden Ring is not happening due to the said leak.
In a new video, VentureBeat reporter Jeff Grubb suggests the March reveal rumor is no longer happening due to the previous leak. In a previous video for GamesBeat decides, a “combination of sources” told Grubb that an Elden Ring showcase would take place by the end of March. He was cautious in stating that the “end of March” schedule was not a fixed date and could change at any time. It was a pretty safe call to make because in his last video the situation would have changed due to the trailer being leaked.
While a reveal occurs (she has to at some point, right, we didn’t just collectively imagine this game was real?), Her last video on her personal channel was related here, Grubb talks about a throwback to plans for the trailer’s official debut. While the latter possibility may be disappointing for some, it shouldn’t be much longer for a larger trailer if it was already slated for this month. While Microsoft’s showcase is said to have taken place later this month, the road to E3 is getting ready to kick off. That means months of new announcements and reveals are just around the corner, including more on the elusive Elden Ring.
While we haven’t shared the leaked trailer itself, we have spoken about the latest leak. Both with the fact that this has happened and a deeper dive into what has been shared, we – like many others – couldn’t wait for the chance to talk more about the upcoming FromSoftware game. Our own Dan Tack also dove a little deeper into the latest look, dissecting the grainy images to talk more about the open world, riding and more. If you are interested, you can find his analysis here.
It’s a little odd that a leak pushes back a trailer reveal. Usually when this happens (not all of the time, but quite often), studios often decide to go ahead with a planned reveal. In some cases, the timeline can even be increased. Still, hopefully that means something more official is on the way soon, and we can see more of this game beyond shoddy video on a cell phone.
Assuming there is no new Elden Ring news this month, what do you hope to see from the studio on the upcoming game? Are there any characteristics that you hope for beyond all expectation? Have you shared anything so far, have you worried a little? Give your opinion in the comments section below!
