Sony XMs were our best wireless headphones since 2018 for good reason. They feature powerful Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), a snug fit over the ear, and generous battery life that has only gotten better with each generation. The last M4 arrived with even more awesome features, but the biggest downside was the $ 350 price tag. Fortunately, a number of online retailers are currently offering the headphones for $ 278 – the best price we’ve seen since Black Friday.

Among the offers, Adorama has a slight advantage as it comes in a 20,800mAh Morphie battery, which contains two USB-A ports for charging multiple devices, along with the black XM4s. While Best Buy and Amazon offer the headphones in all three colors, including blue and silver.

Even though the M3s were already impressive, M4s offer solid improvements in all major departments. From a design standpoint, Sony has replaced plastic with a matte coating to give the M4s a premium look. The headphones also provide a better fit thanks to a tapered headband, with a snug curve, and redesigned ear pads that help relieve some of the pressure created by sealed ANC models.
In terms of sound quality, they use a new on-chip Bluetooth system and algorithm to cut the background noise on the frequency curve. And while there are plenty of customization presets for audiophiles, they sound perfect too. With the M4s, Sony also fixed a notable omission by adding the ability to seamlessly connect to two devices at a time via the smartphone app.
