TCL suggested that roll-up devices were to come, but it is now clear that one of them could be particularly ambitious. The company has unveiled a conceptual tablet built around a rollable, printed 17-inch OLED display – you even open it as if you’re unfolding a parchment. While the on-screen images clearly don’t reflect what you would get in an expedition product, TCL plans to use it for detailed maps while hiking and other situations where screens the size of an expedition. a laptop would be useful.
The screen offers a “100% color gamut” and could be reflected in other devices, including televisions, foldable screens and commercial screens.
