Facepunch Studio’s long-awaited console edition of Rust has been rated by ESRB for Xbox One and PS4. The ESRB rating mentions that the game will arrive on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, with no mention of next-gen consoles, although the game is likely playable on the PS5 and X / S series via backward compatibility. With note announcements typically airing shortly before release, it seems likely that we will receive an official release announcement in the near future. The announcement that Rust is coming to consoles in November 2019 came at the XO19 conference, with a release date slated for 2020. The popular survival game has slipped out of that window, with port studio Double Eleven shifting its estimates to 2021 into a December 2020 update.
