Rosalina is an unlockable playable character in Super Mario 3D World, as revealed in Nintendo Direct on November 13. She has a special spin attack.

She can be unlocked by beating the 2nd level in Star World – which is unlocked after beating the “main story” Mario 3D world. The level is called “Super galaxy“, a tribute to Rosalinagame, Super Mario Galaxy. She is found at the end of the level.

Infinite lives

You can get 1110 lives (represented by three crowns by your life counter), by World 1-2. You can do this by passing the first Koopa and heading to the area with a second Koopa and a Goomba on a slightly elevated platform. Kill the Goomba, then jump on the Green Koopa and steal its shell. Climb onto the platform with the Goomba and face the back wall while standing in front of the three brick blocks (press the D-pad UP to aim directly at the wall). Launch the Koopa and jump immediately. Don’t press anything else and you’ll bounce off the Koopa shell and never hit the ground as it bounces endlessly off the back wall. This will result in infinite 1-Ups as long as you don’t move!

You will need to level up twice to fill your lives to 1110 as time will run out once you hit around 600 on your first pass.

Alternative method: You can get more lives (around 900) if you throw the first shell through the pipe, so that it bounces back and forth on the lip of the lower pipe. As long as you are in the right direction (East / West), the shell will rebound very quickly.

Unlock the Crown-Crown level

publicity

If you don’t understand these symbols on the Mountain of Earth at the end of the final world, you will need to get all of the previous ones green stars, stamps, and reach all gold flags for all previous levels. This unlocks the final level, and perhaps the most difficult in the game.

Great Mario 3D World contains Secret outings, or Deformation zones, which are well hidden red chain pipes. Here are the locations of each Deformation zone.

World 1-2 Warp at World 2

The Cat costume is required for this trick, so choose one from World 1-1 Super Bell Hill and hold it in your inventory or carry it through the level. Near the end of the underground part of the level is a pipe that splits into two paths, one with a loop with coins.

On the other side, three long ones? invisible blocks against the rear wall. Use them to reach the upper path with a lone Koopa patrolling it. Above this Koopa is a hard-to-spot space in the ceiling. Run along the back wall to find a red chain pipe. This will warp you to World 2!

WORLD 4-2 WARP TO WORLD 5

The Cat costume is required for this trick, so have one handy in inventory or grab it in the area. After exiting the underground part (with the checkpoint flag) you will come out of a chain pipe with a clear mystery box. Run along the wall it touches to reach the top of the waterfall. After jumping through the poisonous water, there will be a red chain pipe. This will warp you to World 5!

Did you find any Deformation zones we do not have? Please add them to this page, but be sure to use the same format as the other entries on this page. If you need help, just click on FLAG PAGE.

Unlockable: Luigi Bros.

A modified version of the NES version of the classic Nintendo arcade game Mario Bros. Luigi Bros. can be played from the Super Mario 3D World menu screen. It’s unlocked by beating World 8, but it’ll automatically unlock early on Wii Us with New Super Luigi U records on them. In this one you can play as two different versions of Luigi simultaneously.

Change level indicators

If you reach the top of a flag pole, the flag on the map screen will turn gold instead of your characters Color. If you get all Green stars in a level, a rotation Green star will appear above the flagpole replacing the metal ball. The symbol on the flag will also change depending on which character is used for that level or, if you’re playing multiplayer, who got the highest on the pole. If you are using the 5 characters in the level at some point, (Mario, Luigi, Toad, Peach and Rosalina) The green star pendant will turn gold, along with the rest of the pole. You don’t have to use everything characters at the same time, because it is impossible.

Hidden Luigis

There are a lot of Luigis hidden throughout the game. They reside in levels, in maps of the outside world, and even in mini-games! While it’s not yet clear whether or not they appear in each level, there are more Luigis hidden away than you can shake a stick. They are there for everyone to celebrate the year of Luigi one last time!

The new Super Luigi U is not required to activate these hidden bonuses. However, they only appear after unlocking the game Luigi Bros.

The last 5 character Stamps

5 Stamps are not collected in the levels and appear to be portraits of the top 5 characters (including Rosalina). These stamps are only unlocked when you beat all the levels with each character. For example, if you beat all the levels with Mario, you will get the Mario Stamped.

If you play the game with multiple players, they all count towards this challenge as long as they hit the end flag. This means that the shortest way to get the 85 Stamps is to play the game once with three characters playing at a time, then replay all the levels with Rosalina and the remaining character.

How to get 5 Save Profile Stars

You can get 5 stars by your save profile in Super Mario 3D World, to get each star, complete the following challenges:

How to get 5 Save Profile Stars for Bowser’s Fury

Just like Super Mario 3D World, your save file for Bowser’s Fury may have multiple stars depending on your progress:

  • Defeat Fury Bowser once using the Gigantic Bell by the Lake
  • Defeat Fury Bowser twice using the Gigantic Ruins Bell
  • Defeat Fury Bowser three times using the Wasteland Giga Bell
  • Collect 100 Cat Shards
  • Defeat Fury Bowser a fourth time after collecting all 100 Cat Shines.

Unlock Cat Bowser Jr. and Super Cat Mario costumes

Once you’ve earned all 100 Cat Shines in Bowser’s Fury, you can once again challenge Fury Bowser (who will sport a new fiery white mane). Giga Bells won’t reappear during this fight, but if you manage to win you’ll find that Bowser Jr. will sport a new look if you return to the lake, and Cat Mario will retain his giga look even when he’s small!
