NFL fans who are tired of seeing Tom Brady dominate the field may have to wait a while for him to retire.
The Bucs quarterback – on the cusp of his seventh Super Bowl title and the first outside the Patriots organization – said on Monday that he was not opposed to playing beyond 45. That would mean he still plays in the league at least until the 2022 season.

At 43, Brady is already among the oldest quarterbacks to ever play the role. But no one has played with such consistent excellence; He’s proven his age is no obstacle to him at all in 2020, completing 401 of 610 (65.7%) passes for 4,633 yards and 40 touchdowns for just 12 interceptions.
Brady has taken phenomenal body care, including in part thanks to his patented – and controversial TB12. It is not known if this helped him to stay in optimal playing conditions; maybe it’s just an anomaly that did a good enough job of protecting herself to continue playing at a high level, even at her age.
Either way, if Brady is to be believed, he could very well play in 2022 and beyond. Right now, he’s in the first year of a two-year, $ 50 million contract. If he continues to play at a high level in Super Bowl 55 and into 2021, there’s no reason to believe that coach Bruce Arians won’t give him the opportunity to find out.
