Friday was a tough night for Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence.
The alleged first pick in the 2021 NFL Draft was dominated by his Ohio State counterpart, Justin Fields in a 49-28 loss in the Sugar Bowl College football playoff semifinal, completing 33 of 48 passes for 400 yards and two touchdowns in an interception. He’s also fumbled three times (losing one) in what will likely be the last game of his college career.
Yet, as bad as it was, none of it compares to the scathing criticism Lawrence received after the game: An unidentified woman was heard saying: “Poor Trevor needs a shave” in the conference Zoom.

This video is an unintentional masterclass in comedy, of Lawrence’s stagnant interruption by the wife, the moderator’s request to mute the mic, Lawrence’s smirk, and, finally, his dead end “Thank you”.
While Lawrence’s facial hair might be a bit wispy, it still didn’t deserve such a public rebuke, intentional or not. But hey, maybe he can turn that into a razor or shaving cream endorsement. Because if you can’t laugh at yourself, who can you laugh at?
