Another tech platform took action against President Donald Trump in Wednesday’s riot on the U.S. Capitol. Twitch deactivated the president’s account on Thursday, meaning they can no longer use the platform to broadcast to their followers.
“In light of yesterday’s shocking attack on Capitol Hill, we turned off President Trump’s Twitch channel,” a company spokesperson told Engadget. “Given the current extraordinary circumstances and the President’s inflammatory rhetoric, we believe this is a necessary step to protect our community and prevent Twitch from being used to incite more violence.
