Twitch replaced Metallica’s BlizzCon concert with some hilarious non-heavy metal music

While Metallica fans were treated to a special performance by the band at the end of the BlizzCon 2021 opening ceremony, those watching on the official Twitch Gaming channel were treated to the concert with the non-heavy metal music imaginable. in order to avoid a DMCA. Shortly after Metallica started playing, Twitch switched to royalty-free music to avoid a DMCA takedown, which predictably led to some hilarious moments captured by people like @Slasher on Twitter.

It appears that Twitch has not obtained the appropriate rights to allow music to be played on its channel. Fortunately, the concert and its music played as planned on other Twitch channels like Blizzard’s and the official BlizzCon live stream on YouTube.

DMCA takedowns have been a huge issue for Twitch streamers lately, and Twitch even admitted he handled this situation badly. and promised that better tools are on the way.
