Wallbox is looking to break into North America with its first domestic electric vehicle charger for the region. He created a new version of the Pulsar Plus, which the company sells in Europe, for the market. Wallbox indicates that the charger works with all electric vehicles. Features include Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant voice control, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity, charge planning, and flexible amperage adjustment.

The device is available in two configurations. The $ 649 40A Pulsar Plus, which is now available, can be hardwired into your electrical circuit or connected with a NEMA 14-50 outlet. The 48Amp wired charger will be available later this year for $ 699. Both models include a 25ft charging cable and case to keep it tidy.

The charger functions are managed locally and not in the cloud, which means you can still use them if the Pulsar Plus is not connected to WiFi. This should come in handy if your garage or driveway is too far from your router to get a decent connection.

The Pulsar Plus will not take up too much space. It measures 7.8 x 7.9 x 3.9 inches, which according to Wallbox makes it the smallest Level 2 charger on the market capable of 48 Amps (11.5 kW) output. Thanks to the power sharing function, you can connect several chargers to the same electrical circuit. They will automatically balance the power distribution according to the demand of each vehicle and the charging speed.

At the very least, the Pulsar Plus will give EV owners more home charger options. Although Tesla Gen 3 Wall connector is cheaper at $ 500, The Wallbox charger could prove to be an attractive option for families who own several different models of electric vehicles or for those who may change brands in the future.
