CD Projekt Red reveals new board game The Witcher: Old World

Must read

Although The Witcher doesn’t get any new video games soon, CD Projekt Red has unveiled a new way for fans of the iconic fantasy franchise to experience a world of monsters and chaos. A new board game has been revealed called The Witcher: Old World, and that seems like the perfect excuse to take us back to the land of the witers.

Created in collaboration with Get on board, this latest board game is designed by Lukasz Wozniak, a name who has created many tabletop adventures including Valhalla and Titans.

The Witcher: Old World is an experience for 2 to 5 players and serves as a prequel to the story of protagonist Geralt of Rivia. “The players take on the role of professional monster slayers who have recently completed their brutal training at one of the witcher schools: School of Wolf, Viper, Cat, Bear or Griffin,” the Polish studio explains of the latest take by Witcher. “During their adventures across the continent, young witers will face tough choices, accept contracts, fight monsters – and perhaps find themselves battling another witcher to defend their honor. school!”

In order to get their hands on this new board game, the company is looking for your help! The Kickstarter for The Witcher: Old World will go live in May and allow fans of the series to contribute to the possibility of unlocking additional surprises. With the Kickstarter slated for later this year, the team is planning an April 2022 launch for both English speakers and Poles for now, though additional language options are “under negotiation.”
