Collin Sexton didn’t dribble with Kyrie Irving’s artistic flow as he destroyed the Nets in double overtime, but his pull-ups and practices against Irving and Kevin Durant carried a lethal dose.
In 1:31, Sexton scored 11 points on his own, including three 3 points against defenders in Brooklyn. He finished the game with a career-high 42 points, five rebounds, five assists and a single turnover in 38 minutes as his Cavaliers beat the Nets 147-135.
The performance came as the Nets played their first game with newly acquired Irving, Durant and James Harden on the floor together, spoiling a night in which Irving scored 37 points.

Sexton, now in his third NBA season, is not far from a rookie subject to the vitriol of his own teammates. At the time, the veterans of the Cavaliers anonymously tore it to the media and said he “didn’t know how to play”. His teammates Wednesday night sprayed him with water and shouted, “Yeah, boy!”
Sexton is now an integral part of Cleveland’s long-term plans, making up half of his future backcourt alongside Darius Garland. He’s an imperfect player – his grips need work and his defense remains fragile – but someone is worth their organization’s investment.
Sexton is averaging 27 points per game following the dominant performance against the Nets. He caught the attention of people around the NBA with the scoring explosion.
Collin Sexton has just ignited $ 114 million on his own. my God.
